Our guiding principles designed to ensure that our fan group remains truly independent
1.0 - The name of the group shall be "The Bradford City Fans Independent Group
2.1 - To respond to fans concerns and protect the interests of the match going supporter.
2.2 - To facilitate communications between supporters and the appropriate body or agency.
2.3 - To exist as a unified body of supporters that are independent from Bradford City Football Club and other umbrella groups with their own agendas, or political aims.
2.4 - To respond as quickly as possible during or after an incident that has raised concerns amongst fans by using supporter liaison at every home and away game.
2.5 - As Bradford City fans we wish success on and off the field for the club, and as such we believe that the running of the club should be left to those qualified to do so.
2.6 - We believe that supporters organically organise from the stands. If a time arises when protest is required, we shall endeavour to help or facilitate such in a way acceptable to our members but more importantly the wider fan-base.
2.7 - We believe that an independent supporters group cannot have personal interests or financial connections to the club. Instead must be in-bedded within its own supporter base to serve as a practical tool for everyone.
3.1 - The Supporters Group shall be governed by a steering group which shall comprise of a number of members and set roles determined by a vote and subject to election. Roles will be subject of re-election by way of vote at every close of season. Individuals with a majority vote will be elected to their chosen role.
3.2 - Steering Group members are expected to treat other members with respect and create a friendly, productive atmosphere.
3.3 - Steering Group members are free to leave their positions at any time if they are unable to continue due to illness, work commitments, or a change in life circumstances.
3.4 - Steering Group members are able to be members of other fan groups but any private or confidential information they are party to must not be disclosed. Any member who attempts to damage the group through entry-ism will be removed from the group and their membership cancelled.
3.5 - The Steering Group shall adopt rules governing the day to day conduct of the group.
3.6 - The Steering Group conduct shall not conflict with the provisions of this constitution and shall only be adopted or amended or repealed by at least 75% of the full membership present at each post season meeting. The constitution may also be amended by calling of an extraordinary meeting by any steering group member. A meeting will then be called at the first opportunity.
4.1 - Membership of the supporters group will be free and open to all ages. Every candidate for membership will complete a membership form online that will normally be accepted to the group. We reserve the right to refuse any application made. The Steering Group will furnish any refused applicant with the reasons for rejection. The Steering Group's decision is final.
4.2 - Members attending any online meetings are required to follow the same conduct guidelines to other members as defined in point 3.2.
4.3 - Membership is permanent unless a member wishes provides a written request to be removed from their membership.
4.4 - Any member who leaves and wants to re-join in the future will be required to submit a new application to join.
4.5 - No monetary value exists in a membership and no money shall change hands to gain membership.
4.6 - Membership can be removed by the Steering Group after a majority vote. Reasons for the cancellation of membership will be provided to the individual. Steering Group decisions are final.
4.7 - Membership is open to individuals only. This is to prevent entry-ism and those wanting to affect change for their own organisations agenda.
4.8 Membership is available to any supporter who belongs to other fan groups.
4.9 - Fans will be welcomed regardless of age, sex, colour, disability, sexual preference or religion.
5.1 - The Bradford City Fans Independent Group and its positions are volunteer roles. No reimbursement will be given for any costs incurred
5.2 - At present, no banking facility is needed for the group. If this situation changes then it will be discussed and voted on accordingly by The Steering Group.
5.3 - No member involved in a volunteer role should be in receipt of any type of payment of monetary gift from an interested third party hoping to affect the groups running or decision making.
5.4 - The Group is in no way financially connected to the football club or running of.
5.5 - Any campaigns that may be subject to sponsorship or crowd funding will be discussed at the time and voted on accordingly.
6.1 - The group will be open to scrutiny and meeting notes will be available to all members, and where possible, the wider fan-base.
6.2 - The group will exist online via various media platforms including a website, social media channels and video meeting platforms. We will provide news and information as well as an up to date summary of current and issues and campaigns to supporters.
6.3 - Any personal or confidential information we receive from agencies will be handled appropriately within the law. Any information regarding incidents that require(d) Police intervention will be treated in line within media disclosure guidelines.
6.4 - Any statements on issues affecting supporters or current affairs will first go to our Steering Group as a matter of urgency for vote before they are released on ANY platform.
6.5 - Individual members are free to express their opinions but no one individual will speak for the group on important issues until the Steering Group has sight of the statement to be released. We are not, and will never be a vehile for any individuals ego, ambition or self agenda. As a fan & terrace led organisation we answer to the supporters in our membership first and foremost.
